A brotherhood for the long haul
Westward Network is a year-long cohort for pastors and ministry leaders in hard places. We're not building an organization. We're building brotherhood—the kind that lasts beyond conferences and carries you through the hard years of faithful ministry.
This is for pastors who are heading into soil that resists the gospel. Who preach to small crowds and wonder if anyone's listening. Who shepherd quietly and carry weight most people don't understand.
If that's you, you're not alone. And you don't have to do this by yourself.
What We’re about
These five values shape everything we do in Westward:
Value 1: Depth Over Hype
We're not chasing the next trend or conference moment. We go deep in Scripture, theology, and the things that actually sustain you for the long haul. This isn't about quick wins. It's about building a foundation that holds when everything else shakes.
Value 2: Faithful Over Flashy
You're not called to build a platform or chase numbers. You're called to faithfulness. We celebrate the pastors nobody's heard of—the ones who preach to 40 people every Sunday, shepherd quietly, and stay when it would be easier to quit. That's the work that matters.
Value 3: Brotherhood Over Networking
This isn't about making contacts or building your LinkedIn. It's about brothers who actually know your name, who pray for you when ministry gets heavy, and who'll tell you the truth even when it's hard to hear. Real friendship, not transactional relationships.
Value 4: Sent Into Hard Places
Church planting. Revitalization. Post-Christian contexts. Missions. International ministry. We're heading into places where the gospel isn't welcome, where growth is slow, and where faithfulness costs something. And we're not doing it alone.
Value 5: Real, Messy, Honest
No performance. No pretending you've got it all figured out. Just brothers who are honest about the struggle, the doubts, the weight—and committed to staying faithful anyway. This is a space where you don't have to fake it.
What We Believe
We hold to the essentials of historic Christianity:
- The Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God—our final rule for faith and practice
- One God eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
- Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man
- Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone
- Jesus died as a substitute for sinners, rose bodily from the dead, and will return
- The Holy Spirit indwells and empowers every believer
- The local church is central to God's mission in the world
We practice credobaptism—believer's baptism upon confession of faith.
Beyond these essentials, we don't require agreement on secondary issues. Westward is for gospel-faithful pastors committed to the local church and expository preaching, whatever their theological tradition.
